I've had health anxiety for most of my life and actually was healthy the whole time! You see that after you lose all that time worrying. WELL, now I actually have to have a surgery. A CT scan found abnormality on my appendix so even though appendix surgery is low risk it actually haa scary things that can happen. Anyone have to have surgery with these anxiety disorders? how did you manage?

I feel so dumb because it's just my appendix but not due to appendicitis. They actually found a spot on my appendix that looks like a mucocele. These are very rare and they said there was only a 2% chance that's what it was. So do I want to live with a 2% chance of something that could be cancerous or become cancerous or do I want the risk of surgery? The anxiety of being caught between the two is crazy. I fear everything about surgery

You need to find a surgeon who has a great bedside manner. One who eill literally take you thru the surgery and medication used and all that. When you do it will lower your anxiety level. It will cover the what ifs..thats where you are trapped.
