Severe Heartburn... are my meds causing this!???

I am having the worst heartburn!!

To the point I think something is wrong with my heart. It burns so much in the middle of my chest, I’m always burping!

I’m currently on

  • 10mg Citalopram (on day 8)
  • 20mg Propanalol
  • 2-4 Rennies

The dr prescribed me 20mg Omeprazole, I’m reluctant to take this, as I have gone from last month taking no tablets to like 4-6 a day 😦

Has anyone else has severe heartburn on Citalopram or Propanalol.

I’m going to get some Zantac tonight, as read that works really well!

    Thanks 😃

Hi, I'm not sure whether you meant Propranolol, but I have heard that Propranolol causes the lower esophageal sphincter to become loose. I don't think it's that serious, though. But ask your doctor.
