Is anyone else in perimenopause and having severe itching? Sometimes it feels like bugs are biting me. It's driving me nuts. Help!

Yes, I suffer from really bad itching when I walk. I take an anti-histamine. 4 years ago I got it when in bed trying to sleep, I had to stop using detergent with scent and this seemed to calm it down. Also, my doctor said try not to sleep with lots of covers on your legs because it can also be heat rash from perimenopause. It's an ongoing battle with the itch but it's gotten better.

My head itches if I don't wash it the next day. I have to wash it every day. My skin not so much. Once in awhile.

I had itchy scalp too, doc said it could be dermatitis, so I bought Head & Shoulders and the itch was gone after a month of washing it every other day. Now talk about dry hair, lol. Thank goodness for blogs. I conditioned it with olive oil, left it on for 20-30minutes in a shower cap, blew dry the cap for about 2-3 minutes, then washed it with a non-sulfate shampoo and my hair came out soft and shiny.

May have to try the Head & Shoulders for my itchy scalp. My husband uses it. My hair is really dry too, and breaks easy. Im using more deep conditioners and leaving it in longer before rinsing..

I tried deep conditioners too, but they're too messy, also I'm never going to buy them again. Most of them use Olive oil in them anyway, so I prefer to use my Olive oil from my pantry, which is less messy. Plus it leaves my hair super shiny and looking healthy. Maybe you should try Olive oil after you get rid of your itchy scalp?

It only itches if I miss a day of washing it. I use hairspray on my hair so probably dries my scalp out more so when I have it on an extra day if I don't wash it. Then it will itch.

Yes, I was having the exact same issue with hairspray. It seems that all hairsprays dry out the scalp so I just don't bother using any.
