Severe night sweats, appetite loss, weight loss, loose stools NOT hormones...

Hi.

I'm new on here. I've been suffering severe night sweats for the last year and it's getting worse. I've got multiple lung and heart conditions (copd & 3rd°heart block and others) i have a permanent pace maker. I also have many other health issues too.

I've had night sweats for years but the lat year it's been effecting my life badly.

I've had blood tests for all common causes and x-ray on chest as was coughing up green sputum and blood but all is fine apart from the copd. I've lost weight and am now 38 kilos and have no appetite. I feel sick all the time. I'm getting broken sleep waking drenched in sweat but my body temp is 35.2 at the time. I'm hot and cold within minutes of each other. paracetamol doesn't help. clonidine isn't helping. I'm waiting for a referral to heamotologist or endocrine consultant as Dr now says need to test for "nasty" things ...i.e cancer or blood disease that causes it. I have constant itching on my skull to the point it hurts and get periodic rashes that itch like mad. I genuinely can't believe it can be anything nasty but everything else has been ruled out.

I've tried everything possible to stop this sweats (head and abdomen only and only at night) can anyone help with suggestions please....

desperately seeking a solution and reason.

Thank you

i see you take clonidine this is a benzodiazepine and can be responsible for all y signs and symptoms. Is yr dr going to discontinue it? If so it has to be done extremely slowly pls read ashton manual. Thanks.x

I thought clonidine was usually used for high blood pressure and was also used for helping to reduce the effects of cutting down on benzodiazapines I did not think it was a benzodiazapine??

      Hi Carole57510

I've only been on it 2 weeks. my symptoms started over a year ago.

Thank you 're weaning off the pills. I'm waiting a call back to see if there is any other meds that can help.

Hi. Yes it's used for high bp but also "menopausal" night sweats. mine are not hormone related hence why it's not helping in the slightest. It's so frustrating. it took 29 yrs to be diagnosed with multiple heart problems that needed a pacemaker to be fitted urgently. I hope I don't have to wait that long for a diagnosis to this!

i made an error clonidine is not a benzo. There are no drugs actually or even supplements that 'ease' the withdrawal from th poionous benzos. Pls see ashton manual.
