Hi I am sorry to hear you are in such a bad way. You haven't said what you have fractured but am assuming it is a vertebrae. My vertebral fractured take roughly two months to heal and in that time I can do nothing. My chiropractor (he is the only one allowed to touch my back) advised putting hot then cold, hot then cold on it several times a day. I use morphine, tramadol, co codamol (but take a laxative with it) and paracetamol. I also have Bowen therapy. My doctor says calcium tabs are no longer given, the teriparatide is to speed healing. Never had that so no idea. It is miserable no doubt about it. I don't usually sleep in bed either as too painful to get up. I am coming to end of my two months and the pain is a lot better plus I can sleep in a bed again! I hope you have help as you really do need it. Take care and really hope you get better soon.

Aasha, have you read up about osteoporosis?  Most doctors, and members on this site will tell you that osteoporosis itself doesn't 'hurt'.

Perhaps you have Osteoarthritis or Rheumatoid Arthritis (that wouldn't be surprising at your age!).  Go to your doctor again and ask for more tests.

Good luck, and all the best.

    Greetings from Constance💐

Hi Aasha! I am 71 and have osteoporosis too.

I have vitamin K2, magnesium, vitamin D3 and have started having prunes. Yoghurt is good too.

I have arthritis as well and that does cause pain.

We are told osteoporosis does not cause pain but I am not sure about that.

I have two bulging discs on the lower back so they do cause me some pain.

I am assuming you have had a Dexa scan or bone density scan. Do you know your t score from that? How much worse has it gotten?

Mine is an average of -3.4 on the back with the lower back at -4.3. I do not take the drugs for osteoporosis but I do have osteo panadol when needed..

It's stronger than ordinary paracetamol.  Google it!  You can buy it online.

We have it here in Australia. The good thing about it is that it is slow release over eight hours. It is for arthritis in particular. It is a pain killer.
