Oh Brenda I feel so sad to hear of your troubles.  My arthritis is gaining control over me too.  At first was just localised to one or two areas and although painful I could cope, now like you every inch of my body hurts and pain meds either dont help or cause their own problems like horrid side effects.  Have a look online into Mindfulness - it's a form of meditation specifically developed and enhanced for pain control.  It focuses the mind away from the pain and it really does work.  There are often local group sessions which are cheaper than one to one.  I've also found real benefit from root ginger (the fresh root you can buy from asian shops etc).  I use it in two ways - firstly I minced it up and mix it with body lotion and rub into the painful joints.  I also soak the minced ginger in hot water, add sugar and honey and drink it like a tea infusion.  It has wonderful anti inflammatory properties.  I hope you find something soon to help you. xx big gentle hug

Sorry I meant to say re the ginger tea that I add lemon and honey OR sugar, not both sugar AND honey.

Hallo  Brenda.  I do feel for you as I too have OA in many places.  I also have Polymyalgia Rhematica, so I suffer quite a lot.  It's very difficult to stay possitive, especially as most of the, so called, pain killers don't work very well

Take loxie's advice, these things do work.

Also, never be alone.  There is always someone on this forum who will listen/try to help.

    Good luck!  💐

    Hi Brenda

How awful.   It also sounds like fibromyalgia with the pain all over.  But they often give lyrica for that and you said that was terrible drug  for you.

What country do you live in--wondering if you can't apply for disability and free health care

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.  Please keep in touch on this forum for support and I do hope you have some friend or family support near by

Do try the ginger and tumeric.   I take both and do think they help somewhat

Oh, brenda, we are soul sisters.  You're living the same life I am, unfortunately.  I have widespread arthritis, degenerative disc disease, and hypothyroidism.  It is such a daily challenge and struggle.  I'm on a lot of meds, but they really don't eliminate the pain.

Have you researched possibly going on disability?  I've been on disability since June 2015 from my employer, and also received SSDI on my first application within five weeks of submission.  I had been in outside sales for the last 13 years and there is no way possible I could do that in this condition.  It might certainly be something to check into for you.
