Severe Pain 6 months after surgery

Hi all....I am 64 and had surgery on June 26th for cystocele, rectocele and enterocele, using vaginal mesh.  Supposedly, pain was caused by the rectocele.  At my 6 weeks checkup, doctor said, everything healing well and looks good.  Told her I was still having severe pain in rectum with the same feeling as before.  During same time, I was seeing a Colorectal surgeon for Rectal Prolaspe. She asked me what did Colorectal surgeon have to say at my last appt., and I told her, he said he could not do anything until this surgery healed. (he recommended I have this surgery first, and hoped it would take care of problem).  She said, "well, all looks good here and I will see you next year.  Saw colorectal surgeon in September.  Said I had a lot of scar tissue around rectocele repair and another rectocele. Said there was nothing he could do. Only did rectal exam.  The pain has gotten worse, and not only in rectum, but also in perineum. Had no pain in vagina or perineum before surgery, only in rectum.  Feels as if I am splitting from vagina to rectum!  Also, it is not possible to have intercourse.  The pain is unbearable and I bleed. Husband cannot even insert penis even a tiny bit without me screaming in pain.  Never had any pain with intercourse before the surgery. Now, I have unbelievable knots and masses at bottom of vagina and lots of little white chunks of stuff.  My husband can actually see all of this quite clearly. There is no itching or odor, so not a yeast infection. Presently waiting on Family Doctor for referral to the Womens Clinic at Duke.  Has anyone experienced this before???????

    Hi Cath,

Yes, unfortunately. Google pudendal pain and see if it looks familiar.

That has been ruled out with Pudendal Nerve testing and MRI to see if nerve was compressed.
