Severe stomach pain

My daughter has coeliac disease and is very strict with her diet, however for almost a year she has had severe stomach pain and bloating, she has been admitted to hospital twice, had numerous tests, MRI etc, seen a consultant and they have found nothing. There is something very wrong, but she can't get the help she desperately needs, her GP is unsupportive. Please can somebody suggest where she can go from here? Thank you.

Does your daughter eat dairy? My problem began with an intolerance to dairy, the Coeliacs was diagnosed later. Even though I've been on a gluten and wheat free diet for more than four years I still cannot tolerate dairy products. This can be the problem for some Coeliacs.
The the reason I mention it, is the fact I suffer extremely painful stomach pains and bloating you described.

My daughter is 16 years old and has been on a strict Coeliac diet for a year and is still unwell, she has had all the tests done and everything was well.
This is great but it doesnt stop her from coming home from school looking and feeling terrible! She sleeps alot, and feels sick and bloated. I hate it and wish the diet would step in and work. Im looking at diary, I cant think of anything else, the whole house is GF because my 8 year old is also coelaic.
lactose intolerant, Im not sure she is going to like this !! Keep me posted on your daughter PLEASE, I feel like a mum going mad! x

Thank you for replying. I do feel for you. I am also a coeliac and so I know how hard it can be for all concerned. I am also lactose intolerant and I find cutting out dairy makes a huge difference to me, and so my daughter is going to try it. However, I have also had a problem over the last six months and it started when I was prescribed a tablet which was supposed to be gluten free, I even ended up in hospital on morphine). Stopping the tablet made it all go away, so if your daughter takes medication it is wortth thinking about that too. Good luck, I will keep in touch.
