Severe sudden pain in lower left abdomen?

Last night, I randomly woke up at 1.30 am with a striking, sudden, severe pain in my lower left abdomen. Later on, I also developed back pain and started feeling nauseous. It was honestly the worst pain I've experienced in my life yet - I tried taking paracetamol, drinking water, but nothing helped. I was stuck with that pain until 4am, when it became a bit better, and I managed to fall asleep for a while. I have no problems with my urine or bowels, and I didn't eat anything 'dodgy'. What could this be, and should I be concerned?

Could have been a kidney stone.  They say the pain is horrid.  Plus usually, you get nauseous, or throw up when one is passing.  Just a thought.  How r u now?

If it happens again, go get checkef out. If u haven't had it all day. , it would be strange. To get it at night. I'd think.it would be constamt, if it were something serious
