Severe tingling, burning pain in both legs and feet.

About 10 years ago I started treatment for lower back pain and Arthrodesis of a hip following injuries I recieved in an accident 50 years ago.

Now so as to cut a long story short, after a year of being treated for the back pain with all the pain drugs normally used and drugs used in the treatment of Neuropathic Pain I developed the severe tingling, burning pain in both legs and feet which so many complain of. I told my doctors about this change in my circumstances and they all said it was referred pain from my spine. Following years of battles with doctors in order to get them to understand that their diagnosis was wrong I have finally self researched that these burning pains are caused by histamine intolerance, possibly caused by the very drugs I have been taking. I have now started treatment with anti histamines, which has not only cured the burning pains but also improved my general well being. I would urge you all to at least look into the possibility that you to have this problem because I have found that histamine intolerance is very serious and not to be just looked on as something like hay fever.

During my years of treatment for this horrific burning I did find that taking 1 or 2 mg of Clonazepam each day was very effective not only for the fiery pain but also for irritable leg syndrome.

I wish you all the best in fighting this horrible disease.

I have the tingling, burning pain in lower legs and feet.  I also feel that my feet are freezing cold - like I am standing on blocks of ice - yet they feel warm to the touch.

Does taking any anti-histamine tablet work?  Think I might give it a try.

My symptoms were the same as yours and taking Antihistamine tabs helped tremendously after only a few days. Now I wouldnt say you should do the same but I was prescribed 2 tablets twice daily of what are described as one a day tablets. They are called allacan (Cetirizine hydrochloride).  They can be quete sedating when taking high doses and other sedating drugs. Good luck to you, let me know how you are if you should decide to try them.

I used a very small electric blanket for the cold feet which although not currative was very comforting and pain relieving. I do so hope you can find your cure for this horrible condition. Always remember, tomorrow is a new day.
