Hello all, please help if anyone has experieced similar problems. Decided to go off statins (Rosuvastatin) after all the side effects after taking them for 5 months. Within two days of going off the drugs i experienced severe vertigo/nausea. I couldn't function or even stand upright ! After visiting doc and ENT specialist they put it down to a virus in my inner ear. I informed my doc whilst there for the vertigo that i had gone off the Cholesterol meds and he told me to take a lower dose. I started this and strangely within a few days my vertigo and nausea was gone !?? I took them for 2 weeks and then decided to try a herbal cholesterol remedy rather and stopped them again and within two days the severe vertigo was back with the nausea and i was once again bedridden for another 4 days !! My wife mentioned she thought the Cholesterol meds were causing cold turkey in the form of nausea and vertigo !! Being a sucker for punishment i tried stopping the cholesterol meds again and sure as dammit .... you guessed it, Vertigo and nausea from hell !! How do i get off this stuff, and has anyone experience this before ??

Yes, I developed much the same, but it took a slight cold and a flu jab to trigger the nausea you experienced.

I stopped the Statins, and within one day the nausea stopped.

    I've been ok since.

Hi William. Over the last 10 years I have had 4 Heart Attacks, Double bypass and Mitral valve replaced. After the first attack I was put on statins and noticed straight away a weak feeling with all muscles and then painful joints.

?Also started having severe dizzy spells and went back into hospital for tests. Nobody suggested it could be the statins. How many patients must they have seen with the same symptoms? The dizzy spells lasted for about 8 months. I also became very anxious and depressed, thinking I was going mad. The only response from GPs was anti depressants, no mention of statins. This made me even worse, being bed ridden for 8 days and thinking I was dying! About six weeks ago I decided to stop the statins and slowly came off them. I am now feeling like ending it all as the dizzy sick headache feeling has become unbearable and I do not know what to do. I keep being told that if I stop taking statins I will have another heart attack or a stroke and feel really desperate. Is there any help out there

I was on Avorastatin for about a Month but was giving me severe runs so stopped taking them. Doctor then prescibed Simvastatin. Within a week I was starting to suffer from musical hallucinations, basically hearing/thinking music all the time. stopped taking the Statin on the Saturday by Thursday felt really unwell. Went to doctors next day feeling very unsteady on my feet. Doctor sent me straight to Hospital. By 8 o clock that night couldn't walk and felt sick. They thought I'd hada stroke so CAT Scan then MRI. Nothing showed up so put it down to viralVertigo. Was ok 3 days later but still suffering from musical hallucinations.

Simvastatin is made by a fermentation process of Aspergellis Fungi one of the most toxic Fungi out there. Antibiotics are made from Fungi as well but personally I won't be putting anymore of their poisons into my body.

Some Statins are a derivative of Penicillin so if you are allergic to Penicillin you'll likely be allergic to that type of Statin.

    started atorvastatin 10 mg

7 days later my left eye was killing me

my stomach was all over with noise and indigestion.

i had to stop this drug. Eye exam doctor said dont do it.

1 -2 days after stopping stomach felt like hell. Hard to eat.

It felt like statin ruined my digestive flora and enzymes. Trying pepto and soup diet. Im out of town so cant see doc for few days. Hope its not my liver.

Hello everyone who has been on this poison. I have stopped taking statin 4 days ago. I am experiencing vertigo and headaches. The Nausea seems to have gone away a bit. I am now able to get a full nights sleep. I never thought I would be able to sleep again. That poison made me both physically and mentally sick. I could no longer do any of the things I once did. Just 4 days & I can say my head is clearer and I can sleep. It's got to be a win. If my cholesterol didn't kill me this drug would have. I'll take my chances.
