Severe worrying and irrational thinking

hello. i am writing this to see if anyone has any advice on how to deal with irrational thoughts and doubts. i will give an example of some worries i experience. every now and then ill deposit money into the bank after ive been paid, and then i will get a thought after a few months thinking, what if one of the deposits didnt go in, what if ive lost lots of money etc. even though i normally check my bank after each one. this is just one example, but worries like this will come and go often, as soon as i get over a worry another one comes. the purpose of this post is to get advice on ways to deal with worries and help them. i struggle with worries every day and it gets me down so much having all these thoughts in my head. thanks.

I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you other than you are not alone. My brother suffers from this same syndrome, whatever it is.

He labors over everything in his life, always second guessing himself and others - doubtful and suspicious of almost everyone he encounters, except his family. I guess by now he knows that we are ok and can be trusted.

He lives alone and if he meets someone in, say, the elevator and maybe have a pleasant exchange with them - a few minutes later he will go over and over what was said and find some alternative meaning to their dialogue.

What did they mean when they said (imagining a conversation) "How are you doing today? Later on, when he's by himself, he will think ....what did they mean by that? Why are they asking about how I'm doing? What do they want to know?

    See what I mean?..

I think his being alone too much has caused him certain paranoid feelings - he didn't use to be like that. He used to have all kinds of friends. Now he has none.

    Are you rather isolated too?

Hope things get better - have you spoken with anyone about your problem?

Thanks for your reply. i can definitely relate to that, constantly feeling nervous about things that other people wouldn't even think twice about. i do feel very alone with it and dont talk to anyone at all about it. i tried to go to the doctors once but nothing really happened.

worry and irrational thoughts are associated with anxiety. ive had them for years but now have much better control.

i dont allow the thought. i say "delete or cancel" then think of something positive or happy. you must be persistent because you have to reverse your way of thinking. thats why you get one after another. you need to interrupt the cycle.

a therapist can help you too!

go to you tube and search for great audios for anxiety, overthinking, etc.one is called detachment from overthinking you can hear when u feel that way.

most of our fears never happen.

    YOU will be ok. ❤
