Severely Sprained Ankle and Toe Numbness, What to expect?

Hello, I sprained my ankle severely the 5th of March, and now today most of the swelling is gone, except for the near the outer ankle bone and the connection between the foot and the shin (Excuse my knowledge for not knowing the correct term).

However, I experienced some painful redness and swelling whenever I sat my foot down, after the injury swelling already started receding. The initial assumption right now is that this could be an infection due to a blister that ruptured, which started appearing the day after my injury.

My concern now is that I am experiencing some Big toe and side of the foot numbness, my initial assumption would be that this could be a nerve that has been damaged due to the severe swelling, but I am very keen to hear what others make of this, what can be done for it, and if it will pass with time as I start to regain more strength and mobility/flexibility in my foot, as well as the remaining swelling subsides?

If anyone wants to see some imagery of how my foot looked like, and how it looks like I am willing to upload some per request.

Hi I was wondering if u had had any antibiotics at all?

Yes, I have been on antibiotics for about 7 days now, but not much have changed at all.

It is just a concern to me that this pain came after the fact that I had started rehabilitating my foot, and could start to walk again, so in the span of one night, I went right back to square one.

If this is some kind of over stretching or something during the night, I am not sure, but I am considering getting a proper full check-up of my foot, in the event that there might be more to it than just the sprain alone.
