I've been diagnosed with OCD and been prescribed Sertraline. I'm reluctant to take them because of this side effect. I've read through that taking 240 mg of Ginkgo biloba a day can 'reverse' this side effect.
Have any of you noticed this side effect decreasing with time? I'm really worried about it, that along with not being able to drink alcohol is really putting me off but I just want to get better!!!
Let me know if you decide to try to the Ginkgo and if it makes any difference and also if this horrible side effect wears off!
Ta! Good luck!

-Felt a bit sickly
-Tiredness
-No sex drive
-Big pupils
and thats it really, my pupils are normal now an i dont feel sick or tired anymore.
Im not a big drinker but i like to get drunk on special occasions! Im thinkin of having a few drinks this weekend in the comfort of my own home to see how i feel. Ive heard some people miss their tablet on the day they are guna drink! Dose anyone do that?? If so does it help?
And has anyone got their sex drive back since being on the medication?

Well it was halloween last night, loads of partys were goin on etc. Anyway as i was staying local i decided to have a few drinks. I stuck to vodka & diet coke all night, and i was very pleased to find that i didnt feel sh*t or tired or depressed or anythin, i actually felt good! Maybe if anything i got typsy sooner, but i havent actually had a drink for 2 months, so it could just be that! I dont drink that often but i now know i can get a bit drunk on special occasions, and not get questioned by people of why im not drinking!
Just thought id let you all know my experience!

I have now been put back on sertraline and have been taking them for 3 months and the same thing has happened again!
This is a very common side effect according to my GP.

The downside to my experience is following a couple of great weeks I have started to feel anxious again with that lump in my throat feeling thats associated with anxiety. I'm hoping it's just a blip and I level off again
