Just started taking 10mg Citalopram a day. A little concerned because I'be read where one of the side effects are loss of sexual desire, ejaculating problems, or impotence. Has anyone experienced these problems? If so how long after starting meds did it begin, how long did the problem last, and finally how to solve it. Thank you in advance

I have this isue wit ejaculation. I've only been on it for 5 days. But for me the nausea us the worst part. Thinking of stopping.

Thank you for your response!! Are you having Delayed ejaculating or unable to get aroused? I haven't felt any nausea from it so far

Arousal is ok, at least for now. I'll give it a little while longer. If the side effects don't go away soon I'll try something else.

Thanks for the info man. I guess I'll stick with this for a while then. I hope the withdrawal isnt bad trying to come off of it tho, because I don't want to stay on this long term. Maybe you can ask your doc for something to combat the nausea that your experiencing amd see if that helps. I used to take "Ondansetron" for nausea and it worked really good for me. Look into it.

No problem. It's only been about 6 days since I started it so I might just need to give it time. And I forgot to mention the tinnitus I have that is driving me nuts. It was already there but I think the celexa might be making it worse.

Oh ok i see. Well hey man I wish you the all best. I've read where some people have started taking these meds and experienced some unwanted side effects in the same category as you, but they stuck it out for a few weeks and then they started feeling better hopefully it turns around for you soon. Keep me posted on your status and I will do the same. We have been taking it for almost the same amount of time so far.

I was taking 20mg for over 1 year. I had the delayed ejaculation. But I fixed that issue by waiting until after sex before taking the pill. So I plan my sexual encounters closer towards the end of the 24hr cycle of the meds
I just went up to 40mg. So still battling new side effects

Hi. Yes I suffered the same problem. I was on 20mg daily and it did not get any better until I gradually reduced my dose to 10mg every other day. I'm trying to reduce to every 3rd day now but as with each time I've reduced my dose, I have side effects, mainly feeling spaced out, headachy and a little dizzy.
On the positive side, I am more like my old self in the bedroom department, although not quite there yet.
Interestingly, there is nothing to warn about this from either the medics or information supplied with the tablets.
I seriously thought there was something else wrong with me until I discovered others had the same problem.
Best advice I can give is to try to get off the medication as quickly as possible. It does mess with your head!
