Hey westy I know for a guy the whole orgaism thing is common. I'm female and my Dr did inform me many years ago when I started taking it that it could alter my sex drive. In my case it did not bother me at. Not sure about the urination issues that may be something u wanna talk to ur Dr about. Otherwise I took the medication for years up until last week when my Dr switched me to celexa as my body had built up a tolerance to the sertraline. I was at the max dosage of 200mg also. Other than taking the sertraline for anxiety it was Suppost to calm my sex drive down and it did not work for that. I'm sure after u get use to the meds the orgaism issue will clear it self up.

first how many mg  are you on. sex problems are the main reason people give up there meds ,  i can orgasm but not in intercourse only manually. The feelings are dulled in sex . try to get by on the lowest dose to inprove your chances.

    Hi Westy,

Sex drive and function are commonly affected by medication, but we all react differently. From reading other posts over the months, I'd say more people than not lose their sexual impulse and ability to climax. I've been on anti-depressants that affected me this way, and others that heightened my enjoyment of sex. Sertraline has reduced my libido but not seriously interfered with orgasm. I have also had urinary problems on other ADs so can sympathise with you there. I would say give it a little longer and discuss with your doctor if possible. Each of us has to be sure that the benefits outweigh the side effects and their impact on our recovery. What you are experiencing is not that unusual but in time you will find that the symptoms fade or another medication works better for your metabolism and body chemistry.

Good luck mate. keep us posted and don't give up hope!
