has anyone had a whole day of shaking? when I wake up most mornings I feel anxious and nervous about my day and feel like I'm shaking inside but it normally subsides after about an hour if that.. today its persisted all day, you cant physically see me shaking but my hands, arms and upper body feel shaky and I just feel on edge and worried about it.. has anyone else had this? I'm also 2 weeks in on starting sertraline, could it be a peak in anxiety with that or a side effect? or has anyone had it without medication .. I've gone back to being petrified it's something to do with my heart again!

there’s nothing wrong with your heart. You have anxiety. When I was in my 20s is when it all started for me. And yes I had the shaky vibrating feeling that could go on for days. I was not taking any medication at that time.
Anxiety tends to show symptoms in the nervous system so that’s why you feel shaky like that. anxiety symptoms are basically telling you that your anxiety is too high. The more you worry about the symptoms, the more you will have them. You have to have a Low keyed attitude about them.
And in general, anxiety management is what is really needed.
if you have things in your life causing you to feel anxious, I suggest speaking with a counselor who can help you manage this. Once you have it a little managed you will see less and less symptoms.
you could possibly be feeling side effects from the medication but there’s really no way of telling. Everybody responds differently to medication. I would tend to think The symptoms are more from anxiety.

thank you, I appreciate that. I find it so so scary. no particular stress in life, just major health anxiety about myself since I had my son 4 months ago, I was petrified something would happen to me during child birth which it didnt and then I felt a bit run down a few days after and its spiralled since then. I only worry about my heart because I get so many random pains, mainly little sharp ones. I have had checks and they come back clear but I still worry. I'm currently on a waiting list to start CBT.

Hi Sophie
I get that shaky feeling several days a week. I recently discovered that it helps to drink a lot of water - then the shakiness subsides.
I don't know why. I am close to menopause so the shakiness can be a sign of dehydration but I am a lot more shaky when I am anxious so maybe it's a combination.
I hope you feel better soon!
