I am on my second day of citalopram 10mg . I cut them in half. I take mine in the morning because it caused me insomnia.
But I get the racing thoughts , which were already there to begin with.
Try and stick to it. We're on the road together.

Hello “Not Again,” First just for me to get it clear...when you said you just took your 3rd pill three hours ago...I am hoping you mean you are on your 3rd day...not your 3rd pill in one day.
I am going with the 3rd day at the moment...so you are still so very early on, and unfortunately, this is normal side effects on the meds. Over the next weeks, you will start to feel better, then you might feel as though you have taken a step...or 3 backwards...this too is a “normal” side effect. You may feel more anxiety, and depression rise up at first, but this will start to melt away as the weeks pass. I know it is a difficult time to go through, but it will get better, and if you stick with it, give the meds a chance to do their work, you will be so much better for it, and be so glad you hung in there! I like to put it this way...how you felt before the meds, didn’t happen over night, so it is going to take a while for the meds to fix you.
There are a lot of really wonderful people on this forum with great advice, there is no judging anyone, and we understand, because we have gone through, or are going through the same things right along with each other! I know for myself, I am so happy I found this forum, I had no idea these existed, I just asked a question on google, this popped up! It has helped me a great deal!! And seeing others posts, and seeing the advice of others has helped me even more!
I have been on Cital 20 mg for 3 years, and I do very well on it. I did want to add one more thing, even being on it for this long one can still have what I call an off day...some will refer to it as a “blip,” but now I know what it is, how to handle it, and it does not last long, and almost always will be gone with-in 24 hours. From what I can tell, this too is normal. But, all-in-all I have sooooo many more good days than ever before, I have no complaints!
So, you hang in there, you will be feeling better soon! Remember, we are here to help you through it. Keep posting, there are so many people on here with great advice that are willing to help you when you need that extra boost! Ask what ever questions you want, no matter how small...no such thing as a stupid question!! In the mean time...here is a {{{{HUG}}} for you! We all need those at some point!!

I am so sorry that you are suffering. If this carries on see your GP let them know what is happening. If this is not possible rest drink plenty of water your system may be trying to get used to your system and you to it. Just keep an eye on things and see how you get on with it.
Regards Kathryn

So sorry you are suffering at the moment. It takes sometime for some medications to settle in the system and this may be the case. Pleased you managed to do some shopping no matter how awful you felt. Difficult when you have family to take care of. So give yourself a pat on the back for that. Try work yes but don't push it. One step at a time while you are going through this. For your stomach Ginger tea is good or ginger biscuits. Glad you are resting too. Thinking of you hugs and best wishes to you.
