Shall I disclose PIP with employer?

Posted , 5 users are following.

Hi,

I am employed long-term sick and been awarded PIP for care. I am planning to go back to work, hopefully, full time almost after 6-7 months.

My question is, can I disclose getting PIP with my employer? What are the pros and cons? I for sure, know disclosing a disability is not a must.

Thank you,

    Hi

This very much depends on your personal feelings and what sort of employer you have. There is no reason you should have to but if you feel it would help you in any way 're HR issues with your employer e.g. extra time off if you need it or reduced hours then it may carry some weight as far as equality at work is concerned.

Good luck all the best 😀

    Hi,

It's your choice but why keep it from them? If you told them then at least they'll know if you need time off etc. If you kept it from them then later down the line you find you have to tell them, they may not like the fact that you kept it from them. If i worked with my disablity then i wouldn't hestiate to tell them what's wrong. It certainly can't go against you. Good luck.
