Shall I up dose or stop taking?

hello i have been on sertraline for a year now. i increased to 75 mg and for about 3-4 months felt more confident and able to live more happily. i had a change in brand in April and from then have declined back to how i felt before i took them. i was hoping to keep the dosage low as it might be easier to withdraw. So now feel pointless taking something that doesnt work any longer.

Hi Jenny,
what make were you on and what did you swap to? A lot of people posting on these forums have had trouble when swapping manufacturers.

After researching the effects of swapping brands, (they can have differences in the amount of sertraline they have, and the fillers can affect how well they are absorbed) I have no doubt they can affect how you feel. I'm sure there'll be others who can offer their experiences of brand swaps.

Up your dose. It likely has less to do with brand and more to do with too low of a dosage. Also, just don't look at the label. Our brains can easily trick us into thinking something is wrong, but you probably already know that.
Best of luck to you.

to reassure you, i have done my own research and compared the ingredients in a few different brands of sertraline . the fillers are practically exactly the same and so is the amount of sertraline . i have been fine swopping between different brands also. speak to your Gp, i found 100mg worked well for me.

I also had a funny turn after changing brands, my GP said it shouldn't change anything but they'd notice a difference in me. Could be psychological but there's a lot of people that say the same.
I did up my dose to 100mg after 7 weeks, so hope that this works better for you 😃 the increased dose does flare up some side effects but they didn't last as long as they did in the beginning xx

i have read many threads of people struggling with brand changes, you can ask the pharmacy to order a specific one in. if it worked for you please carry on x
