Sharing a cigarette with someone with glandular

A couple days ago I shared a cigarette with a friend who had glandular. I was an idiot for doing it I was also drunk. What are my chances that I'm infected??

I spat the cigarette out and spent a good time rinsing my mouth and lips out with water, don't know if that'd do anything. I also detoxed my body exceptionally well thanks to the alcohol in my system at the time. The person I shared the cigarette with had both types of glandular, however they are over a month in and they say they're feeling much better. His doctor isn't sure if its still contagious. None of my family have ever suffered from this virus either but I'm really worried I contracted it it sounds like hell and I'm not sure I'd be able to deal with it.

What are the first signs to look for? I have a lot of parties and sporting events coming up, are these necessary to avoid incase I'm already infected?

    Hi

There’s a chance yes you could have it as it’s from salvia. It could take up to 4-6 weeks, you will know if u have it. I would imagine they would still be contagious yes. My friend had it in 2016 we shared a drink at my wedding and I caught it 4 weeks later! She still had flare ups now. There’s nothing you can do, if u get it look after yourself.  You’ve probably already had it and don’t know over 90% of adults have already had it and don’t know. Xx

    Thanks for the info,

Is it possible glandular fever can begin less than 4 weeks? My friend gave himself liver dysfunction because he drank and partied around the same time he was supposedly infected. I have 2 big parties this weekend, do I have to rule alcohol and other substances out already? Coz that'd be a real shame as an 18 year old fresh outta high school.
