I started having this sharp right ear pain out of nowhere a day ago. It comes in waves, lasts for a few seconds then goes away and repeats. It hurts quite a lot. I tried ear drops which made it hurt a bit less but it's still here. What could this be?

Do you still experience this? It maybe due to cold or ear infection. If it still making you feel pain, visit a doctor.

thank you so much for replying.
it's better now but it does hurt in the area around the ear like the cheeks and upper jaw. thinking of visiting a doctor soon!
