Sharp heart pain followed by passing out

Iam 18 and a smoker. Over the past 1-2 years I've been getting mild pains on the left side of my upper chest, heart area. I shrug it off every time because it would only last 10 or so seconds, tonight though I got a severe pain that felt like I was being punched. I was getting comfortable in bed ready to go to sleep when it occurred, I stood up and immediately my ears started ringing and I got so weak that I could barely put my shirt on. Soon after I woke up to a loud thud, I had been unconscious and collapsed into my toolbox leaving a decent cut on my arm. I was really hot and sweating but couldn't move. I lay there for about 5 minutes before I came good... this gave me a fright  because Iam only young and I have no problems or anything like that, Iam a smoker but only a social drinker. Any ideas? I'm just assuming the worst at the moment

I assume that you have already stopped smoking and that you will make an appointment to see a doctor as that is the only way you will get a diagnosis.

You don't want ideas from lay people. You need to report the incident to your doctor urgently. It might be nothing serious but any incidence of unconsiousness is an emergency and should be taken to hospital ASAP by ambulance.

Hope it was a 1 off incident and doesn't happen again.

Smoking has got to go.  Ear ringing before passing out and pain in the chest is nothing to shake a stick at.  It could be many things, but only appropriate testing can give the diagnosis and the "next steps" to get you healthy again. Make an appointment.
