Sharp nerve-type pain in toes and fingers. Peripheral neuropathy?

Posted , 2 users are following.

For some time now I have occasionally had sharp nerve-type pains in my toes and fingers, especially my toes. No tingling or numbness, but the pain can be so severe that it takes my breath away. The really sharp ones last for no more than 30 seconds, but I can get pain in my fingers that last longer. I mentioned it to my GP once, but it was never investigated. I'm not diabetic. Does this sound like peripheral neuropathy to you? I do have osteoarthritis in numerous joints, but this pain is definitely nerve related.

The pain you describe does sound like Neuropathy.

I have sharp pains in between my toes. I also have Neuropathic pains in both of my legs. I am not diabetic either. I take Pregabilyn which gives some relief. I find mine worst at night. Other than that it's a case of distraction methods.

I hope you find some medication or another method of easing the pain.
