Sharp pain with costochondritis

I was diagnosed with costochondritis 2 years ago but I have only had tenderness, soreness, and awful achiness. But it's never been sharp pains when I move a certain way until this evening. I've had a few times when raising my arms that a shooting pain would occur right where my sternum is and also when I'm just sitting here doing nothing. My sternum is very tender but this shooting pain is new for me and had me questioning an ER visit bc of it. Anyone else ever just had this happen out of nowhere. I'm still worried but not as much as when it was happening. It's only happened about 8 times in all.
