Shelf pessary issue

I went back to the hospital this week for a shelf pessary to be taken out and replaced. Before I went back I'd had episodes of bleeding (their advice to use Replens helped a lot) and also the front prolapse had come down around the pessary. The nurse wondered about a larger pessary but when she looked the area was too sore to try it, so she put a new one in. The old one looked like black plastic, but this apparently is a different type, white PVC, and slightly softer. No bleeding since the initial pessary change on Wednesday morning, BUT the front prolapse has already come down. Any advice? I'm dreading going back to the hospital because we'd been isolated not going out at all since beginning of March and the seating, waiting for the appointment, wasn't two metres apart, and I had to wait for half an hour, since they were running late, so very anxious about going back. Am I as well to live with the front prolapse slightly uncomfortable - that's all it is, or should I go back and see if a larger pessary COULD be fitted. I'm wondering whether to phone the secretary of the gynie consultant - they seem helpful but so unsure what to do! I have three prolapses - front, back and cervix (had hysterectomy) and surgery on the front prolapse, which was the worst, only lasted for 9 months but I have Ehlers Danlos which isn't a good start for surgery anyway. Because I had endometrial cancer just over 5 years ago, they are reluctant to use oestrogen. Any advice is welcome!

You definitely need to book in for another appointment and get a pessary fitted that is comfortable. Right now it might only be slight discomfort but in a few weeks it could start causing you pain and you definitely don't want that.

I would call and arrange a new appointment and speak with the people about your concerns regarding their social distancing measures as this is a legal requirement.

Hopefully they can get you in soon and you can feel more comfortable.
