Shin and calf pain

Posted , 1 user is following.

For the past four months I have been largelyhousebound due to a severe depression. Now that I’m starting to get back out into the would I have found that walking for any more than around five minutes gives me severe leg pain. I find the pain is mostly in my shin bones and calf muscles, it starts as a burning pain and quickly moves onto a sharper pain. The pain leaves once I sit back down. Is this pain shin splints? I had thought they were only found in athletes, but I'm struggling to walk to my local shops. Should I just keep pushing myself to walk through the pain?
