No ~ these symptoms are new to me ~ but very alarming.  Where is your rash?  Be warned that the nosebleed might indicate that the shingles will be on your face.  If you have not been to the doctor, go now and ask for the anti-viral Valocyclovir.  Having shingles on your face can lead to loss of the sight in one eye ~ damage to your ear ~ scarring across your face.

Stay in touch with this site for help from others ~ good luck.

yvonne34003 ~ Hi, Yvonne ~ when did you get this?

I am interested in finding out how many people end up with a numb area after the shingles.  If you had it on your right side, it is very similar to my August 2013 event.  After that, I found that my bum, round to my pubis and down to my right knee cap had lost all feeling.  My event of May 2002 resulted in a strip of numbness from my centre spine, around and under my left arm and then across my left breast to the centre of my rib-cage.

Nobody else has mentioned getting these numb patches and I am now very interested in finding others who have this after-effect.

yes susan mine started i think is was the day after my post and it still feels like bee stings , and it hurts like heck like i said before i have systemic lupus so this has been even harder having both at the same time.

yvonne ~ Lupus is an immune disease, isn't it?  I wonder whether there is a connection there.  What does your doctor say about having lupus and shingles together?  Does he/she know of others who have both?

Yes, I have recurring shingles, with and without rash, and lately I have started sweating constantly on top of all the other symptoms pre/post shingles. I dont know if they are related, but maybe you should check with your doctor about sugar imbalance. Good luck!

Mary70054 ~ one of our correspondents mentioned thyroid imbalance and now you are mentioning sugar imbalance.  It is possible that the underlying trigger for shingles could be some sort of chemical imbalance.  I doubt, however, whether any doctor would be sufficiently aware of the research into the triggers of shingles to be of much help ~ if, indeed, there is research into that branch of the problem..

All any of us can do is to listen to our bodies and respond to the clues which are being sent.  If sweating is a problemfor you, then sugar might be the cause.  I don't use sugar, soft drinks, sweet baking, etc. because I do know that my body does not want them.  I also don't over-use salt and severely limit my fat intake.  I don't smoke or use alcohol, either, as they are carcinogens.

Keep listening to your body's clues ~ and do ask for help from others who may have similar problems.  Good luck with this, Mary.
