Had shingles for 5 days started with pain in my side apart from the pain from shingles my tummy is so painful..not eaten for 3 days feel cramps and bloated..is this normal

Hi Lynne,
If you scroll through the posts on the shingles threads you'll notice that with this illness there are many different symptoms. Everyone's responses may be different unlike with some other diseases.
Not feeling hungry was one of my symptoms. I
lost a lot of weight. But, I had to start forcing myself
to eat. I made soup with a lot of vegetables and chicken. These types of foods are good for you.
If your stomach persists, go to Urgent Care.

Hi Lynne,
As Tiffany has said, the symptoms that accompany shingles are wide and varied. I wonder, however, what medication you're on for your shingles? Nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhoea are common side effects of the antiviral Aciclovir. Also some pain killers can play havoc with our digestive systems.
If it's the meds, your doctor may be able to prescribe an alternative.
