Shingles

After four months of having shingles on my scalp I notice another little blister where I got shingles the first time!

I hear you can get repeated bouts!  Also people here had repeated bouts for years!  Has anyone here had repeated shingles after the first time?

Thx

    Hi Myrna

I suffer from repeated bouts of Shingles, and find that Aciclovir Cream will remove the very irritating pimples within two weeks. Rub in to the pimple vigorously for 10 seconds, twice or three times a day for best results.

Hi Myrna. Unfortunately yes. Shingles will most often reoccur on the same side of the body each time and in the very same location as the last. However keep it mind you can get shingles else where and even at the same time but most often, it will be on that same side. Example, if you have it on your right hip, you can also get it on your right cheek or right forehead. There are people who have battled shingles for years. My own battle has lasted 8 years and there with my worst being the past 5 because the shingles began going into my eye and this typically requires hospitalization. There are others who have battled it longer. After over fifty different hospitalizations, my husband can now sedate me at home, just as the doctors do at the hospital each time I am admitted. This was made possible by a wonderful and kind doctor that knows us, our situation and felt comfortable to assist us in this way. Not everyone is this fortunate and neither was I for the first 5 years. There is a new shingles vaccine that was just approved this past January 2018. It is called "Shingrix". It does require a prescription from your doctor and is a two dose vaccine. I am scheduled to return for my second dose next Saturday, on June 2nd. It is said to have a 97% success rate and that is HUGE for any vaccine. I would strongly urge you to get this vaccine asap. It will hopefully be the saving grace for us ALL. You take care friend.
