Shingles and post-herpetic nerve pain

Hello everyone, I would be grateful of any help/support please. At the end of March I was diagnosed with shingles above my right eyebrow. During the duration of the shingles attack I experienced knife like pain in my eyebrow, scalp and eye. I saw an ophthalmologist and my eye was not affected. Last week I started with similar pains in my eye and forehead. I saw an optometrist who said everything looks healthy with the eye. Now, as of two years ago I occasionally get attacks of occipital and trigeminal neuralgia from a neck injury I acquired. Usually the pain is focussed in my scalp, jaw and forehead (sharp, stabbing, burning). Could the shingles have damaged the opthalmic branch of the trigeminal nerve and therefore this bout of trigeminal neuralgia is affecting my eye? As in previous attacks I also have pain in my scalp and forehead. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thank you, Sarah
