Shingles and Swollen Lymph Nodes

I’m 27 and was just diagnosed with shingles. It’s on the right trunk of my body and is extremely bothersome, but my question is would the lymph node behind my right ear be swollen? It’s a little painful and hard, so I’m unsure if it’s a swollen LN or a cyst. Is it common for that area to act up?

Hi Dani. I have had shingles twice and am breaking out again. Both times and this time my ear stops up first and the lymph nodes swell on that side also then I start breaking out. I have a huge blister on my chin and I assure you that I am not happy about that. Hope this helps. I keep the antiviral at all times and started on it last night and will go buy L lisine. May not be spelling that correctly. We have a wonderful lady on our site her name is Merry hope she gets your email she is a wealth of knowledge. God bless. Diane

Hi Diane. Today is day 7 that I’ve had shingles. It’s still painful and is burning more than being itchy, etc. I’m pretty sure it’s in the blister stage, just hoping it goes away soon. All in all, I still don’t feel like my usual self, but I suppose it could always be worse. Thanks for asking smile
