Shingles diagnosed this morning

I have had the most excrutiating pain in my upper back for five days - then travelled to underarm and down left side of breast. Started thinking I had cancer - mind just runs away with itself. Anyway last night, noticed I had a rash on my breast and a few bits on my back. Couldn't understand why - thought maybe I had been taking to many paracetemol tablets!! Got emergency appointment this morning and told I have shingles. Got anti-viral tablets plus tramadol PLUS mefenamic acid - will be rattling.

In so much pain it's unbelievable and I am gritting my teeth all the time. Can't sleep as it just gnaws right through me. I hope this doesn't last long. Have a sick line until the end of the week and hopefully will be able to go back to work on Monday.

I came across ur shingles question. I was diagnosed last week and have the pain in same place my back side and boob on right side. It feels a cross between a stitch and something trying to rip out of me. It is constant I'm terrified it's heart attack but has been going on for too long. Was yours like this xx

      Hi Claire

Have your shingles cleared up yet? I assume that over time this might be the case... how bad was your rash and how did the rash (if any) progress for you?

    Hi Guest

How big was your rash was it noticeable? or more like a patch as big as a dime and has it spread?
