Shingles on the forehead

Posted , 5 users are following.

I had shingles on my head, face, and eyes, it started about 12 months ago, i had the tablets off the Doc, after that i was told to see optician i had treatment for three months because the shingles had gone in my eyes at the hospital,

I was discharged from the hospital last xmas, they told me to keep putting the drops in because of dry eye, that never goes away, and the shingles are always on my forehead, i tried everything to help with the itching etc, until i started looking for some sort of relief and i found it,

In the draw in the bedroom was a tub of Tiger Balm i stared rubbing that in and it worked no itch no pain, so i started looking again in the draw, i remember Frances telling me that this will help with ailments i rubbed it on my forehead and it worked it lasted longer than the Tiger Balm but cost a lot more its called Just Essential oils 31 herbs made in Switzerland , hope this will help someone like they have helped me

All the best

John

    Hi.

I had shingles in my eye, face and head in March 2016 and I still  get bad itching every day mostly in and around my eye, I will try Tiger Balm, is it ok for the eyelid? I have been using E45 anti itch cream or an antihistamine. Did you try other things before the tiger balm and did nothing work? When my eye gets really sore I put sudocrem on my eyelid but it's a bit  too thick for the eye area. Did you get the itching every day before you tried Tiger balm?

Thank you for sharing that information. I had shingles on my cranial and optic nerve and it ran down my face as well. I currently have it in my eye and I'm completely light sensitive to where I cannot use my eye at all I'm going to a specialist tomorrow. I have had no relief from the itching on my scalp or on the side of my face though it has gotten much better in time I really appreciate the sharing of information

Hello, I just want to validate that Tiger Balm worked for me also however I was using it on my back.

Also in desperation one day I used a menthol based horse liniment on my back and that gave me some relief as well.

Thank you, John, for posting about this. I find stress makes the PHN more painful so please be kind to yourself. Even Doctors don't seem to understand how hard it is to deal with but here you are never alone.

I wish you all a speedy recovery.

I've had the same thing in the same place. I have tried just about everything. I started using Biofreeze gel and it helped but I couldn't get it in my scalp very well then I found the spray and that was better for appling it to my scalp. I will certainly try the tiger balm. Thanks

Uggg Anyways, I'm gonna try these remedies cause I've never heard of these. The way I look  and feel I'll try anything to get some relief. I use to look quite pretty in the face)! Now these sdays cars are making people stare......
