Hi,

(This is my first time using this so im hoping i can post pics in comments)

Ive developed these red blister type spots on my right leg about 6 at the moment.

Do you think these look like the start of shingles or just bug bites? Never had bites that look like this before. Theyre not itchy just sore, ive felt like generally crap for the last few days but i put that down to hayfever.

Im just in a bit of a panic as cant go drs untill the morning and dont really want to waste an appointment if its un needed and cant sleep worrying cuz i get married in 2 weeks!! ??

It sounds like it could be so get to your doc asap!  You want to take the antiviral right away.  Good luck to you! and if you have any questions, I am glad to help.  Shingles is a terrible disease so hopefully if it is shingles for you, you will have a mild case like I did.  Keep us posted!

Go see your doc.  It sounds as though it could be shingles.  You have felt bad prior to the rash and have additional stress going on right now with the wedding coming up.  If it is shingles, the sooner you can get started on antivirals, the better.  Hope you get to feeling better soon, and congratulations on you wedding!!

Hi Sophie. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I see others here have already responded to you and their advice to you is correct that it could be shingles caused by wedding stress and you need to see your doctor asap, especially with you feeling poorly before the rash appeared. Quicker you get on antiviral, the better. Hope you feel better soon. Best wishes to you and your prince, for happy days to come. Take care friend

    Dear Sophie,

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! Please see a physician today and get started on Antivirals immediately. If the lesions are vesicle-blisters, are burning, stinging, or just sore, and are clustered together, and you felt like you had the flu without problems breathing and cold symptoms, it is Shingles.

    Stress can trigger Shingles.

You need a strong analgesic and rest and sleep.

Please let us know what the Physician gives you for an antiviral and pain.

    Merry Juliana

Hello again. I'm so sorry you didn't manage to get in to see a Dr - if it hafmd ben me I would have said that in my opinion it was an emergency as you suspect you have Shingles and you need antivirals - do they not open on Sat mornings for emergencies? If you cant get in to see a Dr tomorrow then i would suggest you call NHS Direct ( I'm presuming you are in the Uk) NHS Direct will be able to get an on call Dr to you - its very important that you start the antivirals straight away - Good Luck sweetheart 😊 xxx

Do you have an A&E or Urgent Care? You need to be seen to start on Antivirals ASAP. This cannot wait until Tuesday. The sooner you start the Antivirals, the sooner the virus stops replicating, and the less severe the shingles will be. Believe me, I know this, as I have Herpes Zoster-Shingles every 3-5 weeks in my ear for the past 21 years.

      Best Wishes

      Merry Juliana

Is there an Urgent Care center that is open on the weekends that you could go to.  It's very important that you get those anti viral meds because, if it is shingles, they will help you immensely.  I believe mine was such a mild case because I took them the day after the rash came out.  So please try to find a doctor that can take you today.
