Shiny pinkish-red spots on penis head, trying to determine what it is

For the last month or so Ive had these small red spots on the head of my penis. There is no pain, no lump, no liquid of any kind. I had these spots back in January but they went away on their own, only to come back mid march. I have also noticed they will appear in one spot for a few weeks then go away. If left untouched they arent very noticeable, and if anything will start dry out on the top layer. After something like masturbation or simply touching it a lot the spots become more shiny and red. I was tested for STD's at planned parenthood back in January and tested negative for everything they tested for, which I dont remember exactly. I have noticed over the last year more dry skin patches on my scrotum which I assumed was just eczema because I have eczema on the sides of my nose as well as dandruff. I wonder if this could be some type of eczema or balanitis? I also worry about it being something more serious. With everything going on with Covid I have not set up an appointment with my doctor so i wanted to post this for any possible help. i will answer any questions in the comments.

My best guess would be this is linked to your Eczema, or some other auto-immune skin condition.

For the other possibility I would need to know whether you apply anything to your penis either, before, during or after masturbation ...... ?

I don't apply anything to my penis, other than saliva occasionally when masturbating. Here is a picture of how it looks about an hour afterwards, you'll notice the 'spots' get more bright and shiny I am assuming from the friction.

When this first started I was just worried about the possibility of it being something serious like penile cancer, herpes, HIV (which I think I was tested for at Planned Parenthood and came back negative). So far, it seems like these are not likely scenarios.

Adhari has the best advice for you - penile cancer is relatively rare but you would be best to get a Dermatologist to check this for you when you can.

I would hold back on using the saliva as it depends what your diet is regularly, you may inadvertently be adding a source of irritation, and combined with the friction - and potentially, other sources of irritation, these may be resulting in what you have right now.

hi Robert, did you ever find out what is was? i have the exact same thing

    Dear Robert,

Regarding the rash on the side of your nose, does it resemble something like the attached photos (below)? I agree with you and wee_dugie as I think what you have is seborrhoeic dermatitis/eczema (Google), which would explain your facial, scalp and genital symptoms. The best way of treating the condition is with a mild steroid/antifungal combination such as Daktacort (preferably ointment) or Canesten-HC for the penile, scrotal and facial rash and Nizoral (ketoconazole) shampoo for the dandruff.

    Hope this helps.

    Rgds,

    Adhari.

Hi, no the dry skin on the sides of my nose don't really look like that. The dry skin on the sides of my nose really only happens immediately after I shower and dry off, ill notice very dry and flakey skin on either side. My dermatologist prescribed Triamcinolone Acetonide cream for that a few months ago and it seems to work until the next time I shower. For my scalp eczema I just use head and shoulders.

When these symptoms on my penis started showing up of course my mind jumps right to penile cancer, herpes or HIV. So far it doesn't seem like this is the case, but I am still worried about what it is. Attached are some pictures about an hour after masturbation, you'll notice how the spots get more red and shiny i am assuming from the friction.

    Thanks Robert,

Triamcinolone on its own is probably a bit OTT. I'd respectfully ask you to see a dermatologist for a second opinion, as the rash on your face and the penis are related. Daktacort would be a more appropriate course of treatment, but I think a face-to-face consult with a skin specialist would be best.
