Hello, i am a 19 year old female, i am very healthy and come from a healthy family. its curently 4:00 AM. i was awoken a few minutes ago from an electrical shock feeling in my head. It is hard to describe but it felt like a pulsating pressure in my neck and back of head. The feeling was enough to wake me up out of my sleep. Since waking up the electrical feeling has stopped and now i just feel pressure in the back of my head. I am extremely worried. Maybe somebody can help me or has experienced the same thing

Hi. I haven't personally experienced this problem but although i'm no expert it could possibly be related to anxiety. If you have anxiety it is possible that it may be causing the electrical shocks in your head. However, although they feel distressing they are completely harmless. If they continue & they begin to disturb your sleep & daily life it might be a good idea to speak with your doctor. Also, certain medications have been known to cause this phenomenon. Good luck.

You did not mention any medications you are on. I was on one that gave me full body zaps. (for a few days straight) I work with electricity so I know what a shock feels like. Or you could have just laid odd and pinched a nerve, feels similar to having a limb fall asleep . Many times I will have an odd dream like that and it lingers after I am awake. In all cases you may feel presser too. I have experienced all of these. If you are on any medications look and search for "brain zaps" and the medication name. I don't know your details enough but any new conditions like this should be mentioned to a doctor . Perhaps they will recommend a prescription change, pillow or perhaps just check you out to make sure you are ok to give you peace of mind.
