Shortness o f breath

Hello, im making this discussion because on Saturday, I randomly had this weird feeling in the left side of my uuper chest, it wasn't a pain, it wasn't tightness, and it wasnt exactly a knot in my uppset left chest. It was just this weird feeling I had which was accompanied by shortness of breath. It lasted for about 15 minutes. Then yesterday, Monday, it happened again, but this time, it didnt go away, and for the past 24 hours i've been having this slight shortness of breath. Today its been going up and down, for a few minutes i feel normal, then i breath in and it starts up again. I've been getting clammy hands too, and some warm/cold feelings.

I've tried googling and im just not sure what is going on, am i having Anxiety? I've never felt this way before, at first I was thinking it was heart related, but the more i research the more it seems like some kind of Anxiety. Im posting here to get a personal answer, a lot of times when you google things it just bring you to generic websites trying to make you take some quiz.

Im just really worried and dont know what to do. Thanks for any replies

    Hi there Donovan 🙂

    first of all please try to stay calm right now! When you breathe take short ones in longer out. Say 4 seconds in..say to 7 seconds out.

    i know right now you  may think what good is it but try.you may think what? But please try it to start.

    It’s sounds like it is panic as you say your hands are sweating and your heart is irregular up and down.

     I’m no dr at all! If you feel it’s so thing more call 999.

     If you’ve never had anxiety before it can be very hard to tell what’s going on as the symptoms change and vary, so many.

     Has anything triggered this off for you??

    it maybe an idea after experiencing this for a week nearly to see your dr, get checked out tell him/her what symptoms you are having.

     I have to say I sweat my heart races! I shake so much more.

     Be kind to yourself

    stay calm

    try the breathing maybe see if you can find out when it’s eorse when it’s better maybe there’s a connection.

    i hope you can get this sorted out for yourself! If you do have it, don’t suffer in silence.

      Hello Vicky, thank you for the reply.

      After doing the breathing exercise I would say I feel it more when i breath in on the left of my chest. It doesn't feel like a lot of weight, but there is this slight heaviness when i breath, which in turn worries me which results in a never ending cycle.

      As for triggers im honestly not sure. Both times it came out of no where. The first time was in the morning on Saturday, I was doing my usual thing and i started getting the slight heavy feeling, which in turn I admit i panicked a little bit. Then yesterday when it happened again is when i got really concerned, and ever since yesterday I have felt this way.

      I just feel off, like something is wrong, but at the same time, there hasnt been any pain. At times i'll feel back to normal for a couple minutes, even 10's of minutes, but eventually it just comes back and i start getting concerned again.

      I dont have health insurance so im a little afraid of going to the doctor, but obviously my life is priceless so it this keeps up im going to have to go. Im just really worried it's something more, but at the same time in just so unsure and feel completely helpless.

      sorry to hear you aren’t feeling yourself right now.

       You know yourself and if something is wrong please see your dr. You life is precious as you said. It may cost but to me peace of mind I’s everything.

       Please try not to google things! I’ve done that it just made me worse or I thought that!!

       If I’m right this started last Saturday right ? So a week now.so has it got better or worse do you think?

       You will feel less “helpless “ once you’ve spoken to a professional 🙂 is there a heath line you can call?

      From your post I’t seems you’re not from the U.K. and you’ve no insurance but to have a check up and express your symptoms you’re right your life is prescios!!

       I hope you find some answers soon. Remember the breathing longer out than in silly as it may sound it works if you concentrate on it.

      Sorry for the late reply, i've been trying to see how things go and if i get better. So far its been getting a little better, but some things havnt really changed. My 'shortness' of breath is no longer around, but i think the chest sensations i was having, was causing me to focus on breathing thinking im short of breath. So im not sure if im getting better, or if im just dealing with symptoms better.

      So far my symptoms seem to be - Sweaty palms, Discomforting sensations that happen in the center of my chest, or on the left. I also get weird sensations that will 'flush' over me randomly, its almost being dizzy, but not being dizzy.

      As i said daily I felt little improvements, but then yesterday I had an episode where the center of my chest started tingling, and then it spread in what i can only describe as a circle of tingles in my chest. Then later in the day I was getting burning sensations in my chest in the same area.

      To further describe the sensations, they dont really feel too 'deep', but just under the skin but not right under the skin if that makes sense. Another thing that happens is, right as i wake up, i feel the chest sensations. There are also times where I dont feel it, but as soon as i realize i dont feel it, it comes back. Im just really confused what is going on, is it anxiety, or is it something more serious.

      If anyone has any similar feelings, or some kind of advice, I would really appreciate it. This has been the worst thing i have ever experienced. I feel like my peace of mind has been taken from me, and I would give anything to feel 'normal' again. sad

      these are my symptoms of anxiety .....just you asked if anyone else feels like you.

       my palms are wet so so bad! My heart races almost feel the  thumps out of my chest. I get tunnel vision and feel dizzy,have tinnitus somtimes when things are really bad I get like tingling over my body at different times different places.

      please Donovan, seek medical advice it sounds like anxiety but I’m no detests why I say please seek medical advice. Peace of mind is everything isn’t it hey?

      also yes the symptoms I’ve said and many more with anxiety it’s very cruel.

       it can make you think with all these things, theses awful syptoms something is underlying.

      i can’t tell you the amount of times I have thought something really bad and it’s not been that way at all. I worked myself I “fed” the anxiety and that’s what it loves. A vicious ?? 

       I hope you can make some sense of this and you get advice
