Shortness of breath?

This has been happening for the past 2-3 years already.I told my parents that I can barely breathe and they said it was just me and my "brain" thinking I had that.I went to the doctor and nothing found. Is it a mental problem? It is very annoying and cannot be like this for my whole life.I do bot have asthma BTW

ye she was given anti anxiety medication propranalol i think its called although she only took for a day or so as once she had been and had her chest and everything examined and came back normal she pretty much knew it was all mental issue and is back to normal they did a blood test to check full blood count for anemia also included vitamin d deficiency and diabetes she had that yesturday so we are awaiting the results of those ill post back if theres anything abnormal but we suspect everything will come back ok

also have a blood test if you havnt already to rule out things like vit d and anemia as they can also cause shortness of breath

I've had breathing problems and my asthma doctor said it was due to this. For 2 years I would feel my heart pound sometimes through the day and breathing shallow or wake up breathing hard . Or break out in sweat . Finally I was admitted to Er and found out I have been having anxiety attacks. Doctor tried Xanax and Zoloft, didn't work. Put me on Lexapro and seems to be helping. Started going to the YMCA and using the pool just to walk in. Calmed me down just walking in the water. Took time but breathing is getting better. Don't listen to anyone who says it's all in your head. Anxiety attacks are very real. Talk to a doctor about this and make sure you tell him all your symptoms. You may also be depressed because of not knowing what is wrong and your parents not believing you. I wish you answers and healing.

I literally cry because of this since is the most stressing thing I have ever experienced.I still live with my parents and I told them if I can go to the doctor but I get the damn exact answer("NO").I cant be living like this for the next 5-6 years until I got to the doctor myself. And the doctor himself said I have nothing.I hate this
