Shortness of breath and secretion in mouth that come and go

Hello! I have been suffering from this for like 4 months already. It all started one night when lying down. I suddenly got shortness of breath. I started to constantly swallow some secretion in my mouth. The symptoms never disappeared. They just come and go. They usually worsen at night, though that isn't always the case. I visited my doctor and she prescribed me Gelomytrol Forte, I was told that I am just suffering from some infection on the airways. But the pills didn't do anything. I still haven't recovered. I am really afraid of serious diseases like lung cancer, does my symptoms match the symptoms of cancer? The stress and fear honestly make my symptoms even worse. Sometimes, I feel like I am about to lose control.

Also, I'm asthmatic but when my doctor listened to my lungs she said she didn't hear any wheezing, so she said that it's unlikely asthma.

To my knowledge you do not have the symptoms of cancer. Ask for a scan to see if you have a touch of bronchiectasis which is not life threatening, I have that amongst other lung diseases

hi.. I have experienced the same last January along with blood infection. It's still there up until today..as for the shortness of breath, mine started in 2017, and never been better since then. I am also asthmatic, but it was ruled out to be the cause of my SOB, like you, there was no wheezing..there was NOTHING to all what I claim

to be feeling, except for PAIN. that's sad but I think maybe they are correct..it was almost 3 years now, pain never gone yet I am still alive..I don't know what to think anymore, really,, could not even do the job I used to do since then..
