SHOULD HAVE BEEN A DOCTOR

Well at last I went to my appt for my knee ,, we all know our own bodies , so when so9meone tells you the pain in your knee could be from your hip your confidence dips. I knew a scan would have to be done , but no I had to have a torturous session on the X-ray table twisting every which way , and then to cap it all after explaining to the radiographer the reason I was here and that my right hip was the worst and not my left , turns out the Dr only requested x-ray for the wrong hip !!!!!!!!. I knew initially he didnt seem to grasp the problem , so after 3 hours , he says a scan will be needed and to see him again in 6 WEEKS , well I wont be letting him anywhere near my knee with a knife. Needless to say after all that my fibromyalgia is in overdrive and every part of me hurts, wont work ,so now I will have to dose myself up with painkillers and wait !!!!! ,all I wanted was a scan, not more pain and suffering, that I can do without , thanks nhs.
Have a good day all of you xx,

After over a year of pain in what I thought was a muscle connected to my knee, and an op on my knee, and many treatments and physio on my knee.....I still had the same pain.In the end I googled for the best surgeon l in knees and sports injuries.I amanaged to get a letter of referral from my GP (not easy!) and booked a consultation privately,it cost about £100 a few years ago.Immediately he knew what was wrong, my hip not my knee.I had a hip replacement op after my GP had the letter from the specialist on the NHS.Had to wait, but painfree now, still have fibro though.Good luck, but worth paying for the best diagnosis.
