You can ask but they may not give it to you .you don't say your age .but as for having 2-3 periods a week I would defiantly speak to your doctor there might be something that can be sorted speak to the doctor sooner than later. Lyn x

      Hi Lynn

I'm 48 just now and got the coil fitted for pain and flooding. It's helped with both but my periods are more frequent now which as you can imagine is problematic xx

As I said in my other reply I would go and see your doctor as soon as possible there may be something they can do without operating but if they do offer you a hysterectomy I would jump at the chance I wish they'd done it years ago I always had problems with my periods but it was only February this year they decided i needed one as I had pre cancerous cells which when they operated turned out was cancer which they got it all but I need check ups every four months for two years

I would ask for referral to gynae consultant. Many women don't suit the mirena. (I do t get on well with any hormones and they still tried to get toget me to have this. I refused.  Sometimes you have to push for even basic investigations, but I would push for a referral to a specialist in this area.  I know some ladies have been told it can take up to a year to have proper effect, but for some it just doesnt work. If it's impacting on daily life, I would push, hard.  You need the cause investigating properly.
