Should I be worried

After a terrible 4 months on citalopram I was switched to sertaline 8 weeks ago. I was on 50mg for 4 weeks and started to feel some glimmers of hope so went to 100. I'm feeling really low now. Been 6 months of barley being able to go out, not seeing friends, lost job etc so I'm really desperate for this to work.

I know 8 weeks is when most people say they feel better by but should I be thinking of it as 8 weeks since I started sertaline or do I need to wait until I've been on 100mg for 8 weeks?

You will have to wait it out for 8 weeks on the new dose. I have been on 200mg for 4 months and I noticed it has helped a lot with my intrusive thoughts but I still get anxiety. I might be getting anxiety because I can't decide if I should switch to another med because I have been on meds before and never has it taken this long to get rid of the anxiety. This med took sooooo long to kick in. You will have to give it atleast 3 months. It will get better if you give it time. Every time you go up you will experience nervousness and crying spells

    Morning .

sorry to hear how you've been feeling . I understand where your coming from , I would let the 100mg settle in give it a few more weeks and if no change go back to the doctors. I have been Sertraline for 4 weeks now and have not felt the benefits but I am trying to keep positive that I will by week 8. Stay strong x
