Should I drink alcohol?

Hi, I have recently found an article on internet that says people who never drink alcohol, tend to have a shorter life than people who do.
Is this really true?
In my case, I never drink alcohol as I've always thought it was something dangerous for our health but it looks like I was wrong.
Also, I'm always afraid of getting drunk and alcohol is not something I really enjoy anyway. Well, I drunk a few alcohol a few times in the past because my family encouraged me to in a party, but that's all.
But now that I have just found this article, I'm starting to get worried and I wonder if I should start to drink alcohol from time to time before it's too late (I'm currently 24 years old). Do you suggest me to do it so?
If so, how much alcohol should I drink for not getting drunk and at the same time for keeping a healthy life? How many times should I do drink it per day, week or month and what kind of alcoholic drink should I consume?
Thanks in advance!

That article is utter bullsh*t.
It's very simple, if you enjoy a beer once a while, by all means, go for it. If you don't like, don't drink it.
In all cases, don't drink excessively, don't drink every day, don't develop a habit.
If you follow these things, the chances that alcohol could hurt you is next to zero.

I don't know where you have read that their is a correlation between not drinking alcohol and having a shorter lifespan compared to drinking and living longer, it sounds complete rubbish, live a healthy life by eating healthier, exercising regularly, being happy and trying not to be stressed and not reading articles that make you question your own life choices, if you fancy a glass of wine or a beer then by all means have one just don't make it a habit and definitely don't do it because you feel you must, at 24 you can enjoy life without it and live to be a ripe old age and you're liver will definitely thank you

If you dont like alcoholic drinks then dont drink them. Its as simple as that.In the 1920s and 30s all the adverts said smoking was good for you as it would clear your lungs and make you attractive... well what a load of rubbish that was. There are lots of articles on the web and in the popular press about certain foods being good for you and the next month you will read exactly the opposite.
Just have a healthy balanced diet and nothing in excess and you will be fine. There are lots of life governing factors apart from alcohol.

@yan50450 @AlexandriaGizmo @kim12266 @Marina_DeeThank you all for replying! Ok, I will not trust that article, now I can't find it, but I have found this another in case you're curious about it.
Anyway, no, I don't enjoy drinking alcohol. I always prefer juices if not water.
