Hi Elizabeth,
Sure the doc knows your hormone numbers will be low. Leading into menopause and being in menopause your body quits making certain hormones or not enough to keep you happy and healthy. If you have access to a holistic or alternative dr I think you will be surprised on how they would treat low hormones compared to general docs. I'm 61, been on bio identical hormones for 6 years with a holistic dr and will stay on them for life. Good luck.

Hi Judy,
Thank you for sharing your experience with holistic approach doctor i just have a question how long have you been seeing him/her ? and since health insurance dont cover the treatment do you pay all out of pocket? some insursnces cover as out of network after the deductable is met .

Hi Beth
I've been going to my holistic doc for 6 years. It isn't covered by my insurance although I've never tried to see if they would cover just a portion. My insurance does pick up a very large part of all my lab work which is done a couple times a year so that helps. I've decided to invest in my health and I have never regretted it. Actually once you get set up with what you need its just maintaining and its affordable.

Thank you for your response ,im 45 , have seen a holistic approach doctor for my peri symptoms she gave me around 7 meds and supplement's with follow up visit i haven't take any of it my body has reaction to many things so i don't know what to do , she advised me to take it but if i get reaction i might ended up to ER where conventional doctors dont support the whole idea of holistic approach im in dilemma but wants to feel better, getting constant pain every day .

Beth,
Curious if your holistic place ran labs? Did they ck any hormone levels?
Just saying, when I started my journey lots of lab work was done through blood draw and daily urine samples. Finding the right dr is crucial. Many general docs went into holistic medicine.
