Should I get medically cleared by a physio before I go back to work?

So about 3 days ago now I was at work just having a normal day then went home, about 2 hrs later my right knee started absolutely throbbing in pain. I had to ring in and tell them what happened. Went to the doctor but the problem was I had been on ibuprofen and an ice rub 24 hrs before I went there so it was hard to make a diagnosis as the pain was very inconsistent at this stage and I had almost no pain when she was moving my knee only a lot of tightness. She said it may be a knee tandian problem

on the right side but you really need to see a physio to get a proper diagnosis.

The injury was believe it or not caused by a mat that was in the wrong place.

She said if the pain is still there go and do it.

Now the problem I have is this is a work thing. Boss basically wants me to let them know how it is on Friday then if it's better then I can just go back as normal. however, I have a feeling the pain will go away and then come back as this is what happened the other day.

Currently, there is no pain in the knee but I'm just waiting for it to come back.

Anyway. My questions are, is this right? Will this pain just keep coming back?

Also, as this is a work injury should I just go and get my knee checked out by a physio any way? what will the Physio do differently that the doctor hasn't already done?

Thanks 😃
