Should I get surgery to remove my cyst, or try to shrink it naturally?

Hi guys,

I just turned 17 and a couple of months ago my gyneocologist told me I had a cyst that is 6cm. We had a 3 ultrasounds in the past 3 months. This past ultrasound, my gyneo told me that he suggest I have surgery to remove the cyst. I would hate to have surgery! I am not on birth control! What I want to do is try natural ways. For example, i am going to start drinking Apple Cidar Vinegar mixed with warm water and molasses and by changing my whole diet. Also, I want to start taking birth control. Does anybody think I should get the surgery? Or should I try it my way?

Anything over 2cm does not typically shrink. Surgery is the best option

Surgery is best option! You want to avoid a rupture or a twisted ovary....6 cm is fairly large...although surgery will be a quick recovery and minimum scarring smile

Very much doubt it will shrink, it will most likely grow larger and cause more pain and problems. I had a 4.7 cm one in March, by June it had grown to 10cm eek

I don't know how effective the alternative you're thinking of might be, but i think you should go ahead with a surgery

What surgery is the dr recommending? Removal of your ovary? If not, definitely yes, if so, consider that you will have only 1 ovary left to conceive with. Still, one is better than none and pain, many men manage to have kids with only one testicle.

It is always better to try natural methods before surgery.  This method worked for me.  All women suffering from fibroids should try this.  It's a miracle.

Kaitlyn I do know that birth control can help in some cases. I use CrampBark, Burdock Root and Tumeraic this has helped me so. You can purchase this in a tincture or buy the root. I also use Cornsilk to help with fluid retention. Also a hot water bottle placed upon wool strips that has been soaked in castor oil will help as well.
