Should I persevere with Orlistat?

Hi all,
I was at the Dr for a check up last Tuesday because I've been having chronic migranes and have found it hard to get them under control... He was asking me if I was stressed about anything and I told him the only thing was weight loss because I have a problem with my leg and can't excercise much at the moment... he prescribed me with Orlistat - and I thought great maybe this will help to shift a few stone and get me started.
So I started the tablets on Wednesday morning and was all fine until Friday at tea time when all hell broke loose and I had an accident - no one saw though and I haven't told anyone as I'm too mortified.
I've spent a few hours today researching online and while my dr did tell me about possible oily stools there was plenty he didnt tell me especially about the fat allowances.. I now know that the dinner I had on Thursday evening was probably treble the fat allowances they should be :-(
Anyway, what I'm wondering is it it worth it?! Should I continue on these?

It is worth it yes, but you just need to be strict with your diet, they mainly act as a deterant to keep you on the straight and narrow. The instructions in the pack should tell you all you need to know but there is plenty online too, if you find you can't excercise much or at all, I'd recommend sticking to the fat rules as best you can, and reducing your calorie intake to about 1600 a day, then perhaps to a bit less when you have adjusted, that will definately shift some pounds!

I wish I'd done a little research before I started taking them because I think the problems I've had have been purely through lack of knowledge!
I think I will follow your advice and start again but a little more sensibly this time!

It's ot your fault you weren't to know, and its horrid you had to have a bad experience to learn about the side effects. I wish you all the best! :D

I've been sticking to maximum 15g fat each meal each tablet but often less fat
Then I was told I wouldn't have any accidents
I am struggling a bit with what to eat as I don't want to eat to many carbs or sugars either, I started mine monday so will see how I get on but at the moment I haven't lost anything

The 15g fat sounds sensible I guess - I am surprised now I know a bit more how stupid I was! I just took the tablets blindly!
Will check out the app - sounds like a great idea!
I haven't quite figured out what I'm going to eat yet - I just had a chicken stirfry there for tea - might stick with that kind of thing!
Gook luck with it all!
