Should i see a gp about this issue before i have my smear?

Hello, so i'm 25 and was recently sent my letter saying I need to book in my first smear. I've also been having issues recently and have been experiencing painful sex/bleeding during and after sex. I obviously want to see someone about this but was wondering whether I should see a gp before i have the smear or whether its worth asking at the smear test as they'll be looking inside my vagina anyway so it would kinda kill 2 birds with 1 stone? I'm a bit nervous to have the smear before the problem is sorted though as I imagine it will be very painful.
