Should I see my GP?

I have had osteoarthritis in my feet for some years, particularly painful, mid-foot arthritis in my right foot.  Now I've got severe pain in the big toe joint of my left foot and I think it may be a bunion. Very painful to walk anywhere, although there's little to actually see.   I'm wondering whether I should see the GP.  I don't want to waste his time over this, but it is very painful.  What have others done?

    Hi Cheetah

Why don't you want to see GP? If you are in so much pain see your GP. They will refer you to specialist. Only x rays can tell you what can be done. Then you can make a choice.

Or you take over the counter painkillers.

I'm on eighth week of recovery from surgery, it's got me rocking in a corner with boredom but when it's over I'll be able to walk without pain.
